REVIEW: CLITSPIT – HanDLE IT

Unpolished, unashamed, uncompromising.

Clitspit don’t hold back on their deafening debut “Handle It!”. A DIY punk/riot-grrrl track that has filtered into the Leeds scene as a standout statement, ahead of their headline release show on March 29th at Hyde Park Book Club.

A boomy bass drum and scratchy guitars catapult you into the chaotic world of Ashleigh Froud, Lucas Housen and Lola Wainwright. The 3-piece have quickly grown the status as ones-to-watch with their well-known raucous live shows.

Stitching together the patchwork of quotes that men said to her, front-woman Ashleigh Froud boldly belts 2 minutes too long of insults men have said to her, Clitspit flip these daggers with a stabbing track and reap the tears of the nameless male subjects for dinner.

For fans of Bikini Kill, X-Ray Spex and Lambrini Girls.
